The 15th Indonesian International Textile and Garment Machinery and Accessories Exhibition 2017 (Indo Intertex) has ‘productivity for sustainability’ as its theme. The event was held in Jakarta from April 19-21, and attracted over 9,000 visitors.
More than 450 participants from 24 countries showcased their machinery, equipment and more at the event. The event gave visitors an opportunity to discuss sustainability, energy efficiency and automation in the textile sector with international market leaders.
The exhibition attracted visitors such as international government bodies, international associates, textile and yarn manufacturers, garment and apparel manufacturers, spinning mills, chemicals and dyestuff industry, business consultants, chain-store business owners, textile and apparel traders and buyers. The products on display at the exhibition included fabrics and yarns among many industrial textile machines.
The textile industry needs to be oriented towards exports and ready-made garments for sustaining businesses. Indonesia’s textile exports raked in $13.2 billion in 2011, but have been declining since then to reach $11.8 billion in 2016.
