In the second week of July, the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) will host a convention on textile growth.
The convention will be jointly organised by the textile associations and textile industries of Pakistan. The focus will be on developing various programmes and policies for the growth of the textile industry in the country.
The Textile industry accounts for sixty per cent of Pakistan’s total exports. The APTMA believes the industry can be further improved with the development of a more efficient and competitive business environment. They are competing with regional competitors such as India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Vietnam and aim to enhance the county’s export to achieve economic stability and growth.
The convention will also throw light on the availability of energy at regionally competitive prices as it plays an important role in the production process. Power supply is essential in the spinning, weaving and processing industry and needs to be available at affordable price scales.
